Make a statement in this soft Cotton sweatshirt handmade by us. The Never Forget Collection pays homage to the victims of some of the most violent atrocities committed against Black people and communities - mostly during Civil War Reconstruction. Angered by their perceived losses, many whites took to the streets to antagonize newly free Black citizens, ultimately driving them from their homes with lethal force. Many massacres occurred in response to false accusations against Black men and other forced removal happened in the name of "Development Induced Displacement." This trend has continued since Reconstruction through practices like Redlining in addition to outright vandalism and destruction and can be recognized as present day gentrification. Black communities that were once thriving have been broken apart, their residents expelled and/or killed. With this collection, we honor the lives and the history lost to this brutality. We carry their memory forward with us in an effort to restore and heal as a collective, all that we have lost. Each item in this collection features a prominent Black community torn apart by institutional racism. Though some towns may still be standing, they were, in fact destroyed at their core when the beating hearts of these towns, the people, were removed.
